The 1183 founded Premonstratensian Schussenried is surrounded by the Baroque landscape of Upper Swabia. After the 30 year war large parts of the monastery were burned, the architect Jakob Emele built under Abbot Magnus Kleber from the mid-18th Century the new building complex. The main attractions of the convent includes the magnificently carved baroque choir stalls of the parish church of St. Magnus and the bright Rococo library.

Within the beautiful Maisenvalley on the outskirts of Bad Urach is the Urach waterfall, the most beautiful waterfall in the Swabian Alps. The karst spring crashes here from 37 meters in free fall into the depths, and then goes further than 50 feet above a steeply sloping, mossy rocks down into the valley.
